The Botanical Garden Molino de Inca is located in the pine woods, (Camino de Los Pinares). To get there, you can take different routes. A complex that makes you fall in love

The history of the complex is linked to the mills. The existing springs in the area made the development of several mills possible, among them is the Inca mill, which gives the name to the garden, it is the oldest focused on flour uses. However, some mills were also used to produce brown paper.

The construction of the mill dates from the beginning of the 18th century. Many years later Alfonso XIII visited the site when the second water supply to Malaga was constructed.

When visiting the the Botanical Garden Molino de Inca, you will find almost a thousand different species of plants, creating a natural oasis in the heart of Torremolinos. More than 40,000 square meters that will delight anyone who likes to feel the calm of nature and discover tree species. Among a thousand plants, more than 150 are palm trees of 50 different species. One of the most outstanding, is the Bismarck palm, with large leaves and of course, the name comes from the first German chancellor Otto von Bismarck. The Spanish palm is also impressive due to its great hight of multiple feet.

Next to the variety of palm trees, you will fall in love with two centenary specimen that can be found in this area of Torremolinos, the Araucaria and the 2 meter high Eucalyptus. They are part of the 300 trees of 60 types and about 400 bushes that you can see from different places and lookouts. Educational and fun visit for children

The Botanical Garden Molino de Inca is also a corner of calm, an ideal visit to do with the smallest of the house, since after the restoration and opening in 2003, much emphasis was placed on making it attractive for children. The children will be amazed with the replica of the old Inca Mill, which works thanks to a complex system that takes advantage of the water path that you will find it in the museum inside the garden complex.

Here they will also discover through replicas, which was the use of each part of the mill, with a recreation where the family can interact by touching different buttons to learn more about the mechanisms of the Inca Mill.

Japanese garden among birds of prey

The beauty of the complex culminates in the spectacular Japanese Garden which is the perfect space to immortalise the visit with a family photo. It has about 500 square meters and reproduces a rocky hillside, landscaped with hills and typical lakes from Tsukiyama. Here you will also be surprised by the impressive collection of bonsai trees.

All this is complemented with a wide fauna that lives in the complex, where exotic birds such as hawks, owls and parrots stand out.
