Christmas, Xmas, Sweet Christmas. In Torremolinos it is already Christmas and here we celebrate it with more than thirty activities, lots of emotion, tradition and a great Three Kings Parade that we invite you to experience.
If you come to our city for Christmas, and you also do it as a family, you will be able to enjoy a lot of activities designed especially for the little ones in the house. Santa and their Majesties the Three Wise Men of the East will also be in our city and we are sure that whatever the days you come, you will return home with a big smile.
Cinema, children’s activities, theater, concerts. A complete cultural agenda to enjoy each day of the holidays.
At Christmas, the calendar of events multiplies in Torremolinos, with a wide program, with almost one activity per day, and especially where children are the main protagonists. Drop by and visit the Santa Claus House on Palma de Mallorca, avenue from 20th to 23rd December and make sure that the little ones can convey their wishes and requests to Santa Klaus before Christmas. Remain very thoughtful as you might also come across him while visiting the essential corners of Torremolinos as Santa Claus does a tour of all the neighborhoods of our city.
The Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Center hosts many of the Christmas programming activities. If you are in Torremolinos in December 20th, you may want to visit the Feminist Reading Club at 5:30 pm or see the various Youth Film Series from 7:30 pm. Interesting activities to enjoy with friends.
A traditional message deserves a special mention in the agenda of activities and also with a clear solidarity character. The fifth «Toy Run» fills the town of Torremolinos with Santa Clauses on their motorcycles who will collect gifts to give to the children. The Youth Festival starts in Plaza Blas Infante on December 21st at 11am and continues in the same square from 7pm to midnight, to enjoy the best.
Christmas Eve: tradition in the best company
December 24th, is a day of tradition in Torremolinos and here the tradition is marked by Casa Pestiño with its Flamenco Christmas. Starting at 1 pm on the Plaza Federico García Lorca. The next day, on the 25th, will also be marked by music, but that which the DJs of the Christmas Party at the Prince of Asturias Auditorium will play.
And from, December 26 until January 4, the little ones can enjoy board games, giant games, video games, gymkhanas and scaperooms at the Torremolinos Children’s Festival at the Palacio de Congresos from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. And while the kids are having fun, make your last purchases in the Christmas market also installed there.
What to do in Torremolinos if you come on New Year’s Eve
If you are going to say goodbye in Torremolinos to this year 2020, you will have the opportunity to enjoy theater classics, film concerts and several already traditional sports events such as the San Silvestre run.
On December 27, live the story of Mr Scrooge with the theatrical performance of «A Christmas Carol» at 8:00 pm at the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Center. The next day in the same place you can hear the voice of Pedro Cuadrado, accompanied by Begoña Cruz on the piano during the «Melodías de Cine» in concert.
On December 28, enjoy a different celebration, in silence in the Plaza de la Nogalera. No, it’s not a joke, because in Spain April Fool´s Day is held on this day. Silent Party from 9 pm. Not so silent will be, in the next morning, the Children’s Party in the Plaza Blas Infante with games, workshops, and musical performances with Pam Music.
How about, to end the year, if we run the San Silvester ? As it is traditional, Torremolinos will say goodbye to 2020 with a race. Dress up and compete at the Plaza Blas Infante. And in the evening, we´ll celebrate New Year’s Eve in the Plaza de la Nogalera. There are many traditions that usually accompany this night. There will be no shortage of grapes of luck, a good atmosphere and good wishes and goals for the year 2021.
Waiting for the arrival of the Three Kings with a great Parade
The days before January 6 are lived in Torremolinos with expectation but above all with great enthusiasm. Stay tuned from 2 to 4 January as during your visit you can meet the messenger of the Three Kings from the East, who will collect the letters of the stragglers with wishes to the kings and will distribute sweets to the little ones.
On January 5th, the day starts in the morning with the arrival of the Three Wiseman from the East, on the beach of La Carihuela. If you come with children, it is an activity you definitely gonne enjoy. It will be at 11 am in the area of Rincón del Sol and in the afternoon, the grand parade will go through the streets of Torremolinos for about 3 hours from 5 pm on.
