Rock, Pop, Indie, Blues, Rockabilly, Jazz and even Reggae will invade Torremolinos for two weekends on the IX Rock Route, which in the month of May and in the month of November fills the venues of our city with live music .
In total 32 different bands, of different styles, will give their best in Torremolinos in 35 different stages. In a large number of bars and stages, mainly concerts by the participating bands are given from 5 pm. And you will not only be able to enjoy concerts in restaurants and bars in our city, but you will also find live music in different streets and squares, so that wherever you are you can enjoy good music as the Rock Route will coexist with the European Rock ‘n Roll meeting.
If you are thinking that you would love to live this musical experience but that you cannot do it now, you are in luck, because the Rock Route is repeated in winter and spring. And rest assured, because all music lovers can plan their visit to different stages and time slots and enjoy the different concerts.

All the participating bands and soloists, more than 30, are local artists and with a varied subgenre within rock music. From the Indie of Nico Sabatini. to the rockabilly sound of Rocking Bumpers, the soul of Bárbara Pereda and Dani García or Tatiana La Negra, sounds of The Beatles and Elvis with Silver Beats and Sun Elvis Presley Tribute, the reggae of 12-13 Reggae Band and rock & roll, lots of rock & roll, with Dr. No, The Soaks, Kassia, No Hay Tregua and many more groups that you can get to know in the programming if you click here.
The Rock Route begins on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 8:00 p.m. and will visit various bars and venues in La Carihuela, in the Center, in Bajondillo, in Playamar and in Los Álamos during the weekends from May 7 to 9 and the following, May 21 and 23, 2021. Vanilla Café will be the first venue to host a concert on Friday 7 May at 8:00 p.m., it will be followed by Pizzeria La Palette, Bar América, Puro Bar, Bodeguita Museum, La Perla Lounge Café-Bar, Twister Brewery, Telepizza Torremolinos, Íkaros Café and La Gamba Alegre.
On Saturday May 8 there will be concerts at The Galloping Major, The Pink Elephant, Colonia Restaurant, Terraza Lounge Hotel Los Jazmines, Pub Branigans, El Caballo Andaluz and Bar Dos Hermanos. On Sunday 9 May it will be MG’s turn. Jamón, Café Bulevar, Restaurant Álamo 43 and Horno Beach Club.
On Friday, May 21, the concerts will be distributed by Peggy Sue’s, Shawarma Simón, Café Bar Central, Taj Grill, La Cervezoteca, Pizzeria La Favorita and Con Dos Huevos. The last concerts of the Rock Route will held on Saturday, May 22 at Arena Resto Bar, Resto Bar La Eskinita, Guinn’s, La Pepa, La Luna Egipcia, Restaurante Mejor con Reserva and Lombok.
Every year within the Rock Route, the best participating Rock Band or performance is chosen and for this, you have a lot to say, since your opinion and your vote together with that of the organization will be the one who chooses the winning group or soloist . The lucky participant will repeat a concert in Torremolinos, since the award is a contract to perform within the events that the City Council usually holds.
This year the award will be among to more than 30 participating bands or soloists. Kassia, Mr. Mirinda, No hay Tregua, Nico Sabatini, Jesús Palma, Rocking Bumpers, Pebbles & Los Covernícolas, Gallango, Bárbara Pereda and Dani García, Manu Valiana, Smoky Joe, Silver Beats, Switch, Los Copiones, The Prairie Sinners, The Soaks, Tatiana La Negra, Pablo Rooster & Friends, Dr. No, Sun Elvis Presley Tribute, 12-13 Reggae Band, Rubio Americano, Raúl Benítez, Viktima o verdugo, José Ortega and Andrés Camacho, Jazz Fusión Dúo, Seyro, Money Makers, Stereo 80, Pepe Torregrosa, Luis Casado and Juan Perico Berrocal, Vanity Vandals. One of them will be the best rock band.

In addition to the Rock Route, on the weekend of May 21, 22 and 23, Torremolinos will also host the European Rock’n Roll Meeting, a free festival now in its fifth edition that includes the Plaza del Remo de La Carihuela and the Pasaje Pizarro . Kasino Kings, Tina Bednoff & The Cocktailers, Sultans of Jungle, The Relics, Tennessee, Sunconnection, Saint Peter Square and other bands will keep the beat from noon to 8 p.m. with a break, yes, at the time of the siesta.
