Torremolinos Rock Route: two weekends of concerts and the best of local gastronomy

Rock, Pop, Indie, Soul, Jazz and even Reggae among other genres, will invade Torremolinos for two weekends in the XII Rock Route, which in this month of February fills the venues of our city with «live» music. All styles and formats have a place in this musical route in which the establishments of Torremolinos become the stage.

A total of 43 different bands, of different styles, will perform in Torremolinos on different stages. A multitude of bars, restaurants, beach bars and cafes will host from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., mainly concerts by the participating bands during the weekends of February 9 to 11 and 16 to 18, 2024.

Let´s rock ‘n’ roll…

If you’re thinking you’d love to live this musical experience, you’re in luck, because the Rock Route starts on February 9th. And rest assured that music lovers will be able to plan their visit to the different stages and enjoy different concerts at different times.

You can set your own pace in this respect, while enjoying the magnificent range of bars and restaurants in Torremolinos. Our recommendation is to be very attentive to all the programming and for that, there is no better way than following the Facebook and Instagram profiles dedicated to this traditional event within our programming. Check the day’s concert calendar and stages and decide according to your musical tastes.

All the bands and soloists taking part, more than 30, are local artists with a varied subgenre within rock music. From the indie of Nico Sabatini, the soul of Suzzette Moncrief and Soul Station to the reggae of One Drop Trío and a lot of Rock with Money Makers, The Satisfaction Rock Band, and many more groups that you can find out about in the programme if you click here.

When and where is it celebrated

The Rock Route begins on Friday, February 9 at 7 p.m., during the weekends of February 9 to 11 and from the 16 to the 18 and will visit different bars and venues in the city center and the areas of Bajondillo, Carihuela, Playamar and Los Álamos. The tavern Taberna Caballo Andaluz, the Bar América (Carihuela) and the La Pallete Pizzeria Restaurant open the day, being the first places to host concerts on Friday the 9th, at 7 p.m. It will be followed by Guinn’s Sports Bar, Billie’s Piano Bar and Bar Amsterdam, all three in the center, at 8 p.m. It will be followed at 9 p.m. by the GrandCafé De Brabander (La Carihuela) and The Clock Tower (Center). And at 9:30 p.m. the performances begin at the Taberna Rufino and La Barracuda Rooftop in La Carihuela.

On Saturday, February 10, starting at 7 p.m., you will enjoy concerts at Folks Street Food (Playamar), MG Jamón Carihuela, The Pippenhuis (Carihuela), Steakhouse América (Carihuela) and in the center at Bar El 12, Ulick Magge’s Irish Bar and The Galloping Major.

On Sunday, February 11, the performances are brought forward and will begin at 5 p.m. in the center, specifically at Buddha Beach, Playaocho and Mariquitas Copas and in Carihuela from 7 p.m. at the Bigbull Steakhouse and Pizzería América. Do not miss it!!

The following weekend, from February 16 to 18, they will play in 20 different establishments. We start on February 16, Friday, from 7 p.m. and they will perform downtown at Café Central, La Pepa, Garfield, Cervecería Twister and the London Eye Pub.

Saturday, February 17 is the day with the most concerts, prepare your route!

We started with the center establishments Café Boulevard By Na, True Club, Mg Jamón Plaza Andalucia, Duvens, Baloó Bar Lounge, Munchies Smokehouse & Bar and Branigans Pub. In Playamar A Jierro and Angus Playamar and Morrofino Restaurant and Álamo 13 in Los Álamos and Heineken Corner in La Carihuela.

And we finished the performances on February 18, Sunday, at the Steak House La Tómbola in Los Álamos and in Carihuela, the Grand Café Gourmet Carihuela and Doyle’s Corner

And between concerts, don’t forget to get your strength back with tapas or an aperitif at one of the many restaurants that have recently taken part in our traditional Ruta de la Tapa. And if you need to buy a T-shirt to match the atmosphere or treat yourself, a stroll around the shops on Calle San Miguel or Cuesta del Tajo is a perfect plan.
