If on this occasion you only have 24 hours to visit Torremolinos, we have prepared a small tour of essentials that you will have to enjoy, no matter what. However, we are sure that after this fleeting visit, you will return to our city and fall in love, in order to visit it in depth, you will need more than a day.
Sunrise on the seafront
If you want to know part of the history and atmosphere of Torremolinos in one day, our first tip is to get up early and enjoy a long walk watching the sunrise from our beaches. We have seven kilometers of beach promenade and to see the sunrise from” El Bajondillo”, is like a perfect postcard to start your itinerary.
Stop for a second at the height of El Morro, that great natural monument that you will find joining the beaches of El Bajondillo and La Carihuela. It is one of those corners that holds a lot of history of Torremolinos , since it hosted the first Hotel on the Costa del Sol, Hotel Castillo Santa Clara. Many great writers and artists of the twentieth century, such as Dalí, Picasso and Luis Cernuda, stayed here. The anecdote comes from Dalí’s wife and muse, who on the sand surrounding El Morro, stared the first documented topless in Spanish history.
When you get to “La Carihuela”, let yourself be invaded by the seafaring essence. Look at the boats on the beach, but also don´t miss the cosmopolitan shops and establishments. You might as well use the chance and have breakfast in one of them. If the temperature allows, more than likely, thanks to our average temperature of 18.5 degrees throughout the year, you may even want to take a dip in the sea.

To continue the walk, specially if you love of photography and views, we recommend to visit some of our viewpoints, in order to enjoy the dazzling views oft he Bay. In Torremolinos, there are several to choose from, in order to take the best photos. Discover our route through the viewpoints of the city and choose the one you like best. After the walk, we recommend to enter the center of Torremolinos. Enjoy the leisure of our the main shopping street Calle San Miguel in the center, or have a drink in one of the main squares. Plaza de la Nogalera, Plaza de Andalucía or the renovated Plaza Costa del Sol, are places of interest.
In addition, if you are a shopping fan, you are in the best place, because on the streets of the center you will find the main clothing brands and also local shops to buy a souvenir of our city. If you like crafts, stop at Cuesta del Tajo, in front of a large tower. You are at Torre Pimentel or Torre de los Molinos, a monument that gives the name to our city. Visit some of our top corners
24 hours it will not give you enough time to explore all our highly recommended corners when visiting, or coming on vacation to Torremolinos but you might want to stop at some of them. If you come with children, El Parque de la Batería is a must, thanks to the leisure area and the great carousel, that families fall in love with. Don’t forget to ride the boats and take a relaxing walk around the artificial lake in the center of the park.
El Jardín Botánico Molino de Inca, aunque se encuentra más alejado del centro, es un rincón natural muy interesante, en el que perderte, mientras escuchas al fondo el transcurrir del agua y descubres las más de especies naturales que lo conforman. Entra en el museo y descubre la historia del Molino.
La Casa de los Navajas es un palacete de 1925 que encontrarás en tu paseo por el Bajondillo y que seguro llamará tu atención con su estilo neomudéjar. Se ha convertido en estos últimos años en icono fotográfico, siendo uno de los rincone más retratados por vecinos y visitantes. Sus jardines, cuidados y agenda cultural, hacen de este edificio un rincón singular.
